Winter

It's been -10 degrees here for weeks now.  It's hard to go outside and get any pictures when it's that cold.  I ventured out to my yard a little and came up with these.

Yellow

My little first-grader is a big reader.  She devours these Rainbow Magic books and had read probably 100 of them.  I keep trying to get her to broaden her horizons a little.

Red

Not sure there is technically red in these pictures or not.  But there is 'red hot' :)

It has been below zero every day this past week.  Our fireplace has been my best friend.  Nothing like curling up by the fire when it's miserable outside.

Childhood Wonder

#18 Little Buddy

I got to spend some one-on-one time with my little buddy the other day. He got an eye infection and wasn't welcome around everyone else because he was contagious :(. I didn't mind. He's the best when it's one-on-one. Love him!

I like the first one better because of the softness, but I like the framing in the second one better.

#17 Spring

My baby is LOVING the outdoors. She doesn't even care if it's chilly. She will sneak out the door at any opportunity. Here she is strutting her stuff.

#16 Pretty

My baby loves her shoes. She got some new ones and she wants to wear them all the time. When I pulled out the nail polish to paint my toes, she immediately started lifting her foot for me to paint hers too. Then when I say "pretty!" She copies me and says, "ditty." She is all girl and I sure love it!

#15 I *Heart* Running Shoes

My husband has been asking me to clean out some shoes from the closet. I didn't realize how bad it had gotten because most of the shoes were hiding. It looks like the place running shoes go to die. I found about 10 pairs. In my defense, I am currently running in two of them, and I need an extra pair or two just to wear around when I need some comfy tennis shoes. But yes, it was a little ridiculous...



I do LOVE running :).

I think her eyes are just delicious! But I'm biased because she is my baby.

#13 Bedtime Reading

I love having a 5-year-old that can read to my 3-year-old! It sure makes bedtime go a lot smoother.

#12 Snowflakes

Spring in Idaho! It's okay, though. We haven't had too bad of a winter. I just finally let myself think that we might be done with winter (barely yesterday) and then we have huge snowflakes today. Yep, this is what March is supposed to look like here.

#11 St Patty's Day

We had a leprechaun visit our house last night. He left green star confetti wherever he went. He also left chocolate gold coins in each of the kid's rooms with a trail of confetti. The kids are loving the idea of a leprechaun. Probably because I'm such a practical person that I have a hard time even letting them believe in Santa Claus. I'm trying to get better, though.

I took quite a few pictures of our set-up but I was disappointed with all of them. My house gets horrible light. This is the best I got.

#10 Rain

I don't mind the rain. Usually :) As long as it's not ruining our plans for having a party outside or swimming or something.

#9 Signs of Spring

It's been a very mild winter with hardly any snow. It almost seems too good to be true that Spring is almost here!

#8 Messy

My baby is an unpredictable eater. Sometimes she will refuse to even try anything. Sometimes she will surprise us and eat whatever we are eating. She really likes quinoa, though. We had quinoa taco salad with peppers, onions, tomatoes and black beans. She was begging to much when we sat down that I just put a spoonful on her plate. Before I knew it, she had chowed it all down, onions and all, and was begging for more. Can't complain about that!

#7 Texture

It's starting to warm up quite a bit, which is nice. But it will be awhile before everything is green and beautiful. With the right perspective, even now can be beautiful.

#6 Coloring

My one-year-old has started coloring. Time to hide all the pens and markers (that aren't Color Wonder, at least). That's not very easy when big brother and big sister are constantly bringing out their markers to color.

#3 Jasper

This is our cat. We inherited him a little more than a year ago. He is the perfect cat for us. He kills the rodents, he doesn't try to come indoors, and he's pretty good with kids too.

We love him, with his imperfections and all!

I'm pretty sure he's blind in that right eye. And his ear had an infection from when he was running wild for awhile so it always looks like that :)

#2 Packed Full

I think my fridge is full. Don't you hate trying to get something out of a fridge that looks like this? But I promise it is all good food, not old food sitting there because I'm too lazy to clean it out.
